AMD FX-8150 (initial) Folding Performance

I had promised folding results to Shelnutt2, but they couldn't make the review. So, they will be posted in the first post!
Regular SMP work unit - 13698.9ppd
Bigadv work unit - 13859.2ppd
So between 13,500 and 14,000 at stock, which is right where it's positioned - around the PPD of a 2500K.

Well, the official HWC CPU thread has too much negative bandwagoneering, so I figured start a new thread with the folding info; take it as you will.

I am wondering about the difference in wattage though.
AMD= x ppd drawing x watts

Intel= x ppd drawing x watts.

So what I am asking is what is the wattage draw to get x ppd?

Electricity does play into a build for me especially when folding 24/7.

Very good question and those are numbers that I was not able to come across, yet. The review idle/load number are the top-extreme and not realistic unless you would have the Zambezi OC'd to the hills. So, we'll have to wait and see, though it is definetly more then the SNB top chips.

ouch thats bad.. hopefully it's quite a bit better when you're peaking around 5.5ghz.

TPF for -bigadv is 50 mins @3.9 GHz? that is disappointing : Thuban X6@4GHz has 40 mins!

That's rather poor folding stats from a chip that's priced to rival the 2600k, but gets the same ppd of a 2500k at higher clock speeds

Actually this should read : That's rather poor folding stats from a chip that's priced to rival the 2600k, but gets the same ppd of it's own previous generation CPU with 2 less cores, clocked 4% higher!
