Default Found an FX-51 in the warehouse. Would like to compare "original FX vs new FX series"

Does ANYONE have a S940 motherboard that will accept an FX-51 that I can borrow?

That this would be a reasonable and interesting test to undertake says all that needs to be said about Bulldozer.

edit - I might have a Foxconn NFPIK8AA-8EKRS collecting dust somewhere. If I find it, you can have it.

Socket 940? Seems it would only be server-grade boards? No other desktop chips were offered on 940 that I'm aware of...

Too bad it wasn't socket 939, then I could loan you my A8N32 SLI Deluxe.

Ah, the original Sledgehammer, those were the days.

Well good luck. At least this is ONE test where Bulldozer will surely win....hopefully. ;)

If you need it, I have some old DDR memory and a 940 mobo shouldn't be all that hard to find on EBay or Kijiji.

I still have a working FX-60 on a 939 board (Asrock Dual sata). Has both AGP and PCIe x16 slots.

I can track down memory if need be (I think it needs to be ECC registered DIMMs), but the boar is a challenge. Really don't want to spend money on this endeavour either.
