It is worth reading wikipedia and some review sites that state what and is supposed to be bulldozer, some really cool inovations are in its design, very neat stuff.

From an AMD insider: This week (from external: 10/12) and <$250 (from external: $245 and not as good at 2600K except in certain very specific applications). If you don't need multithreading (gamers don't), don't bother waiting.

But, what does 'not as good' mean?

Also, there's no benchmarks or records of the power consumption and heat that is produced when pushing these chips. Am I the only one curious as to how efficient the chips are? I'm talking about using aftermarket heatsinks, typical/affordable ones you can order at the store, not the liquid nitrogen variety!

I think SNB is pretty good for efficiency (pretty low temps/power compared to Ph II processors).

not as good = lower benchmark scores, pardon my not using words I should have.

2500K/2600K = 95W parts
Bulldozer = 130W parts

On AMD's version of turbo, I forget what it's called, the fastest chip was running stock top end of 4.2. Best pre-release overclock I've seen on mid-level cooling was 5.2, so under 20%. I will all day long grant you that this is on pre-release motherboards with bioses that aren't likely fully optimized, so there is hope on all fronts yet.

2500K almost all of them will run 4.7+ given the same level of cooling, many up to 5.0. 4.7 = 27%, if my math is right (I forget, is turbo 3.7?). 5.0 = 35%

With more power usage comes more heat to disperse. I guess we'll have lots of numbers to look at tomorrow morning, to know better the answers to your questions.
