Default Any news on the BD processor launch??

It was supposed to be yesterday, but that's come and gone. Seems to be two dates floating around: Sept. 26 and mid Oct.

Does anyone know of any news about this?

apparently X6 1100 is better in clock for clock performance in single threaded and even threaded applications. as showed here : AMD Bulldozer FX-8150 Gets Pitted Against Phenom II X6 1100T in a Clock-to-Clock Benchmark Comparison If true, now that would be a big disappointment.

The problem with that link is the very first cpu-z screen shot...he is still using am "ES" chip (with a 233w TDP), so not really how much stock I am willing to put into the rest of the post. There is also the fact those benches have been up for 3 days now, and we have not seen anything comparable from any of the reviewers we commonly put more faith in. I am still reserving my judgement.

There is absolutely NO way the BD chips will be slower clock for clock than the current X6 chips.

I'll eat my shoe if it is....

The situation is still uncertain at AMD and it is not certain when the launch will be, but mass production of AMD "Bulldozer" FX series has started. As it stands today AMD hopes to launch in 4-5 weeks. The latest rumors have been that AMD aims for October 13th and this may very well be correct.
...
Even if the benchmarks are not reliable we can confirm one thing: if everything is going as planned at AMD the launch of the new FX series in 4-5 weeks. We should also get clear signs if the new flagship from AMD is worth the wait. AMD still says that it expects the FX series to become the fastest retail processor.

What exactly does this mean? Is he talking about consumer retail? Will it be the fastest at launch?

God I would love this to be true, but I am just too jaded to get my hopes up too much.
