im about to set up a new system with a 128g SSD and win 7 on it., would i benefit from making a partion on 64gb cache ? im all new to this so if my question makes no sense shoot me

or should i just install w7 onto it and act like i never read this thread

I usually leave a partition of about 10% of the total space of the whole SSD.

sorry for the noob question but what does the caching do how does it improve preformance ?
is it worth doing

For Gigabyte boards just use the Gigabyte SRT util and you dont have to worry about any of this :)

Thanks again Eldonko, worked like a breeze.

Before SSD Caching (using one 320GB Velociraptor)
1:01
After SSD Caching (320GB Velociraptor and 60GB Patriot Pyro III 3.2)
0:40

Both times are from power on to all startup apps loaded and system idle (including steam, origin etc).Pretty impressed with the result!
Transferring files was definitely up compared to just the raptor also, windows showed 78-80MB/s when moving my steam GFC's back over.

This is at least a good measure until people are willing to fork out for a full SSD setup.
