I think that a little more information would help becasue "will i get better performance b/c my pc is slow and somtimes it lages its about 2years old" this doesn't say much lol what do you mean lags some times and is slow what are you doing when it is slowed down or lagging to me that build would be good for most average users that aren't hard core gaming or number crunching.

the slow part is always,i think its b/c well its 2 years old so its geting slow and the lag is when i open any applications it lags or like freezes for like a sec and same thing when im online and when i play games like wow,cod black ops, it also lags or freezes and it takes a good time to boot or load applications and games,i dont think i have virus b/c ever week i run my norton internet security and im alway free of virus. Can this be b/c the pc is overheating? i have a small case its Mid-size ATX i mean the ati hd 5770 was hard to get in there everthing is super tight that i cant put the Panel back on all the way.

look for another case as well just in case

your hard drive could be quite slower, much slower vs when it was new

you could also need a fresh install as after years of use windows gets begging

slow :)

what are the part numbers of everything you have right now? :)

oh,that makes it easy

wipe the drive(after you've saved your data)

and get building! from scratch of course. unless you want to keep the lcd...but 20 inch is small.

I think that you probably have allot of crap in your OS use ccleaner and clean up everything and uninstall any program you don't use. myself I would just back up the things I ant and then do a clean install of win7 I think that is probably what is going on?

Oh Norton I personally think that Norton is a poc antivirus and also I bet you allot t hat if you turn off all of the Norton stuff running in the back ground your pc will speed up allot.

get ubuntu

put it on a cd

put cd in the cd rom

load ubuntu

with your hard drive and an external usb ones already preconnected, move your data

then get Darik's Boot And Nuke | Hard Drive Disk Wipe and Data Clearing and put it on a cd

and wipe your drive with dod and mr gutmann a couple times

then load the os if you have the sticker on the side

or nothing or put ubuntu its free and legal

and thats it.
