Nice work guys!
Very impressive work from AMD!
You finally gave us something we were looking for.
Make me wonder, if they could crush that IGP from a such small CPU, can they crush pourwer out of their upcoming performance CPU? I hope so much :)

So what I gather from this review, the A8 would make an absolutely balls deep HTPC processor, or budget gaming machine, but in terms of pure CPU performance it gets absolutely spanked?

Bingo.

But for the price, I HIGHLY doubt anyone would really "feel" a difference in 99% of the tasks done on a daily basis.

When can we expect them to go mobile with the A8. It would make an impressive notebook processor.

The are already around in the Sabine platform. A8-3530MX, A8-3510MX and A8-3500M.

The fact that it seems capable of handing 3D content by itself with relative ease would be the selling point for me.

That and it managing to stay under full 150W full load.

Personally I'm a little more interested in the A6-3600.

If the lower clockspeed and 320 cores are still more than enough to handle 3D well, and the price is right (given the A8-3850 is going for dirt cheap), I could see it becoming the HTPC king.

Very nice read and interesting article. Gave it a read, but going to have to give it another read to make sure I let it all sink in. Going to save my questions unitl I reread it, just to make sure I didn't miss the answer.

Nice touch to include the IGP gaming benchmarks to highlight at least some of Llano's stronger points. Can't really do much about the weaker 'Stars' cores though. Would be very interesting to see what Trinity has to offer next year. That should give it more balance in terms of CPU and GPU power.

Nicely done review.

And just think, what will be lacking in cpu core ability will be getting beefed up when the bulldozer version of this platform hits the market in 12' i believe. Imagine if you will 2-3 Bulldozer "units" + igp ... :)

Love the CPU comparo chart in the conclusions, ties it all together nicely. Pretty interesting stuff, perfect for a HTPC. I would never buy one but it is nice to see AMD outperform Intel in something.
