Looks good. 12 boards for the new processor line up...and that's only the A series. Can't wait to see some actual benchmarks with these boards and processors.

Nice to see that the heatsink hole layout is backwards (and cross socket) compatibility, with is its sister sockets.

I'm confused... what is exactly is going on with AMD? I'm hearing AM3+, FM1, 990, bulldozer, lynx, etc... what is what and what is coming out?!?! I understand that AMD is finally ready to release their new "chips" soon and the 990 is a 'new' chipset made for the new CPUs (but can be used with the older chipsets too).

from what i read llano is liek a phenom II with radeon 6 series on board,unless i got it wrong so the performance should
not be an eye opener,save for the gpu side of things.

For a sub-150 board that's an insane amount of USB 3.0. What also interests me in this supposedly midrange platform is support for dual GPUs, especially when AMD admits that less of their die is CPU compared to Intel:

I guess if this can perform like at least as well as the older Phenom II 940 it will work for GPU-heavy games, but I'm worried about a CPU bottleneck unless you can OC the thing like crazy due to having the IGP half of the die turned off.

All right, here is the breakdown:

Llano
An mid-range architecture based on AMD's Fusion "technology" combining Athlon X4 (Husky cores) level performance with the graphics equivalent of the low-end 6000-series CPUs with the following breakdown:

Sabine: Mobile Llano platform (A-series and E2 series APUs)
Lynx: Desktop Llano platform (A-series and E2 series APUs / A75 & A55 series chipsets / FM1 socket)

APU = Accelerated Processing Unit


Bulldozer
A mid to high end, brand new x86 architecture no on-board graphics. It is broken down as follows:

Scorpius: Desktop Bulldozer platform (FX-series 4, 6 and 8-core processors / 990FX, 990X & 970 series Northbridge + SB950, AM3+ socket)


Trinity

Successor to Llano APU series. Combining Bulldozer cores with next gen graphics.
