Default Phenom 9600 Black Edition vs. 5000+ Black Edition

I am in a dilemma, I can't decided between the 5000+ Black Edition or a 9600 Black Edition. Both have been proven to do 3.0GHz but is the extra $140 worth the extra 2 cores?

:help:

If you're set on AMD:

Get the 6400+ BE if your a gamer, because most games don't require any extra cores (known to hit 3.4Ghz+ quite often).

Get the 9600 BE if you do a lot of video editing, photoshop, file compressing, etc... (The extra cores have been proved to be really effective for these applications).

If you want to settle for something in between, get the Phenom 9500. It tops out at around 2.5Ghz with the current chips and BIOS versions, which isn't too bad. With a lower cost than the 9600 BE, and two more cores than the 6400+ BE; you have a killer chip. You can pick one of these up for $230.00 on NCIX.

Remain with the 5000+ BE BALISTX because if you want the quad core from amd you gotta buy a new mobo with the 790X chipset..another 180 bucks.

Man, I need to get with the AMD stuff...

Yeah, if your motherboard isn't compatible with quads, just stay with a dual core.

The price difference in between the 5000+ BE and the 6400+ BE is too big to consider the extra megabyte of L2 cache, so go with the 5000+ BE.

Especially since people have gotten their 5000+ BE to 3.3-3.4

Me either, I'm itching to order more parts but unfortunately I have to spend nearly $300 to fix my Jeep. The Power Steering Pump went in it.
