ebay and the cpus

Wassup with the ebay sellers and their cpus?...Why are they selling them at a price so low?..are they really selling the chips that they're saying or it's just a scam? An E6750 at a price range between 100-130 is fishy to me, what about you?...
Need some answers because I don't really like getting ripped off..if I buy something..
I bought from amazon lots of stuff, everything was smooth there...

I guess cause their used and not in boxes? I ordered an AMD64 3000+ Socket 939 off eBay and it worked fine.

What are they charging to ship? Most times they will have a low price on the product and then charge outrages prices for shipping. What is the sellers feedback rating. I don't go with any lower then 99%. Also how many items have they sold? What is the condition of the CPU (New or Used)? What is their return policy?

Well

I guess the only thing is to check their reputation as best you can..i.e. what Balistx said.

I ordered some RAM from ebay and it worked well enough but I'm much more wary of ebay personally.

This one looks pretty real: INTEL CORE 2 DUO E6550 BX80557E6550 2.33GHZ EM64T DUAL - eBay (item 200193417444 end time Jan-25-08 16:37:43 PST)
but it ships only to us
P.S. I've found an E6600 at 130bucks but the seller has only 130 feedbacks..(all or them are positive and he is a powerseller but..)

So you can look at paying $10.99 + $15.00 = $25.99 USD for shipping, not to mention they are shipping with UPS, so you are going to have to deal with insane UPS brokerage fees to get it across the boarder.

Ugh..I thought that I could find a good chip to save some bucks but it looks like I'll have to get it from the store eventually...or if another forum member could sell one...

Its really not cheaper than buying it here locally. Canada Computers has E6550 retail at $180.00 if you pay cash. By the time you pay the shipping and brokerage fees, you'll be closer to $200.00 if you get it from ebay.

omgwtf January 19, 2008 06:35 PM

Yeah but since I'll be getting it new I won't be that worried with the money...plus warranty..i was thinking more at a E6750 or an E8200 since it's out :blarg:..meh I'll see..
