Just buy your CPUs used. When the Core 2 Duo chips first came out, the E6300 was ~$240.00 +tax, but I managed to get one used for $160.00 shipped a month or two later. The reason why my chip was cheap was because it was used with liquid nitrogen and phase change... but the chip still lives and currently belongs to another owner.

(Man I miss being able to do 3.4Ghz with 1.34V)

Why an E6750? Why not the next series, like this one: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3GHz 775 45nm Wolfdale RETAIL!! - eBay (item 230214080912 end time Jan-23-08 23:13:42 PST). I'm tempted just to oc it!

Default E8*** series

yea go for the 3ghz 8 series. They are going to retail for the same price as the E6750! They look good for 4ghz.

I really hope AMD has an answer to these 45nm chips soon otherwise

I know, I shouldn't have found that... it's very, very tempting. My only problem is that my GA-965P-S3 isn't compatible. That would mean a Q6600 transplant from the DS3L to the 965P-S3, and an E8400 installation in the DS3L, which is sitting on the HSPC Tech Station, wide open... so much work.

Is it She-Who-Must-be-Obeyed? I know, I have the same issue... but if I do buy it, it would be from the A-Power site, not ebay.
