what do you guys think of a Q9300 slawe?

well what do you need the system to do?

if its watching movies and games that are not very cpu bound, your duallie might be ok

trouble is ppl want wayyy too mucho for there old cpus, get an i3 combo on the cheap,clock it on stock cooling
and spank the 9300 :p

I just wanted to know if that was a good make of that chip, not sure if the Q9300 came in different steppings or not, like the Q9550 and etc.

I've had my Q9300 since it came out in 2008. I run it on a Gigabyte EP45-DQ6 with a water loop. Moderate overclocking - my cheap memory keeps me from doing more - and I tend to run it stock most days. It has run everything I've thrown at it - games, video editing et cetera - and never given me any issues.

It runs about %7 faster than the Q6600, but not as good for overclocking. There are several good reviews out there that illustrate these differences better than I can.

I'm not aware of any variations on this CPU.

Depending on price, I would recomend it to a friend.
