Default Sapphire Pure Black X58 LGA1366 Motherboard Review Comment Thread

Around here, we usually see motherboards from the like of ASUS, Gigabyte and MSI. Even EVGA makes an appearance every now and then but there is one other company which is trying to break into this market once again: Sapphire. With their new Pure Black X58, they hope to once again make an entry into enthusiast circles but is this board too little, too late? We’re going to find out.

Hmmmm one would think that entering the upper-tier in terms of a Motherboard offering you would have SLI support. Espically from a Dev team direct from EVGA. It's a shame really, I was hoping sapphires first offering in the real world would have been better.

No SLI on a board selling for $280? That is pretty outrageous. The reset/power switches and LCD are definitely poorly placed. And the board just looks cheap overall.

Nice review Mac.

Bit of an oddball motherboard though.
Given the price and feature set, if I were looking to get another 1366 board, I would probably look elsewhere; but that's just me.

Check out some of the other reviews of this board, you'll be surprised. Some reviewers either like sweeping issues under the rug or just frankly aren't thorough at all.

Only 2x sata3 connection and 5x sata2. Isnt suppose to be the other way around.
That right there, stops anything to buy this.

That's not really a big deal though. It's the same situation on P67/H67 really.

After all, most people don't even have have one SSD that actually *needs* SATA 6Gb/s, much less two.

Ah Sapphire, stick to your graphics cards with the anime women stickers on them.

I agree on the cheap look. "Pure black" is a joke and an IDE connector on X58 board?
