okay 55+ 15C is way too hot and at my limit so I will clock down my FSB and run 3.2 until i get new cooling.

Have you tried Everest? I find that the temps are pretty much similar to Core Temp....

I will try everest tonight. But anyway even when it's clocked to 3.5 I've ever only ran it full load for about 2hours at a time. when i'm just at idle it clocks itself down to 2.6GHz with 438x6. I have the Asus P5k-E i love it

got coretemp to work. I had to disable the driver signing with vista x64. Ok i'm at stock speeds running orthos after 5minutes I'm already at 50C for each core.. So my 55C at 3.5 was way off I must have been busting my limit for sure good thing I didn't run at that speed for long. SpeeFan sucks

Same here on stock HSF with core temp V0.96.1, Nice to see I have baseline now.
Open air bench, room temp 20 (it's winter eh :)
Core Idles 26/28
Orthos for 1 hour and cores for both range at 48-51 C New build so not burned yet.
Running Speedfan too and it's core temps always off by about -15C

I noticed on the GA-P35-DS3L With bios smart fan set to auto it did NOT bump the fan to full speed and resulting tests was a steady 55C on both cores. It only spun the fan up to abut 1400 RPM, with smart fan disabled it runs at 2039 RPM.

My ds3L is the same, it only bumps up the speed when the sensor it uses for CPU (which is waaaaay off) temps gets to about 50C, which is like 75 in coretemp or something...

You can load eztune up with windows startup and set it where you like, works for me, but I run it at 100% so dont bother...

Domino, I saw your other thread so I might tap you for your method/settings when I move on to the OC stage, A little at first till I can get a new HSF.

I'll probably leave the CPU fan at full since the noise level is fine and that's on the bench. The furnace kicking on drowns it all out anyway, heh.
