Default Some popular SB mobos and OCs reached...

This might be of some interest to the future SB owner looking for an OC...

http://en.expreview.com/2011/01/30/m...orm/14381.html

Not sure if it's a big deal, since most people think that SB overclocking is all about the chips themselves and pretty much any P67 board would do...

Dan, plz explain yourself! Do you mean that mobo is interesting? It seems like it to me.

EDIT..gotcha dude...you recommend them...
A little difficult to set the voltage, (undervolt/overvolt a little), but decent features...not too sure about MSI, but it's appealing to try!

Cause it's selling for $159 after MIR over at NCIX right now, pretty good price!!!

NCIX.com - Buy MSI P67A-GD65 P67 ATX LGA1155 DDR3 2PCI-E16 3PCI-E1 2PCI SLI CrossFireX SATA3 USB3.0 Motherboard - P67A-GD65 In Canada.

yes sir!

usually, for msi boards, gd65 is a nice blend of performance, components, and of course price.

a bit like the ud3p from giga. although the giga ud3's are usually a bit cheaper. like this one

I have the Asus Maximus IV and it's really a breeze to use an OC. RAM OC is a stong point of that board.

10 minutes in the BIOS, changed 4 settings, then booting and benching at 5.1 @ 1.39v.

I was able to boot, and play Borderlands for a couple of hous yesterday at 5.4 (54X100) @ 1.43v.

My last two boards have been MSI , and I was pretty hesitant to buy them because of experiences in the past with older MSI boards, but I seem to be having decent luck so far with the p67 gd55. Seems solid and I just messed around and have been sitting at 4.5 with 2500k. My only complaint (so far) is the location of the front panel connectors. If you have a crossfire setup the second card basically crushes the front panel connectors. But other then that, my raid set up seems to be running smoothly( sata 0-1) and temps are looking good.
So, I guess time will tell

What ever you do, don't buy a Gigabyte P67a-UD7.

Holy CRAP!

So frustrating to work with. Constant loading screen locks, now and then it decides to revert the bios revision. All for no reason.

Once it boots, it's quite happy to run at 5.1 overnight with Prime95.

Rock solid board. Frustrating as hell to work with.

I don't think the board has much to do with the OC.

BTW you can flash your UD7s backup BIOS with a PS2 keyboard, get the BIOS you want for the backup already falshed as the main BIOS, then hold atl+f12 and it will take you to a special menu.
