actually no. The saber was just a proposition. But if you prefer the gigabytes I don't think we can find something against it. Just find the one that suit your need and pull the trigger ;) The UD7 is a bit pricey unless you need the extra 2 sata port and all the PCI-e My fav is definatly the UD5. Not that pricey, a lo of fonction and VRM good cooling and just enough of everything.

Only a couple insignificant reasons Im not the owner of a UD7 right now.

I havent seen confirmation of UEFI on it although others say its there. The rest of my rig is a red setup including a fully sleeved modular PS I did myself, the black/gold look wouldnt be ideal.

Again both reasons are pretty negligible, but id rather have a red themed board with UEFI.

No Gigabyte board uses EFI at the moment AFAIK. The UD7 is about as ugly as motherboards can possibly get personally. So if aesthetics are you thing, stay away.

If you want the red theme I would go with the Asrock. If you want a solid board, Saber Gigabytes and MSI, if you want a solid board with EFI Definatly the saber. MSI are great but the saber is 1 step over.

I'm a little confused about the Sabertooth. Asus doesn't give OFFICIAL specs on the fan size. Some say 70mm, others 50mm.
Edit: And who even manufactures small fans like that?

Just look at the size of the CPU socket and the size of the fan hole you will have the answer in a second ;) But as I already say, there is no benefit of this jacket over the board. Temp are about the same with or without. This is according to some of the few Asus worker that act as mod on the Asus ROG forum.

This brings me to:
How good is Asrock customer service?
Are they an established, trustworthy company?
How has the reliability of previous mobos been?

Im very tentative about that baord as I know nothing about the company.
Personally ive had good experiences with evga, asus and gigabyte.

Re read the first reply of the thread. My Asrock X58 Extreme started having issues about 35 days in to ownership. And it was either I fork up $70 to fix a $200 motherboard or sell it for dirt cheap. Now I am not saying all their boards are bad. However having to pay for repairs under warranty is pathetic.

I perosnally never used Asrock service. I've used a lot of their 478 board in the apst years since they were the only 478 still on market but never add big issue with these. Yes the company is established since it belong to Asus. So no worry about it. For the reliability, they mostly use the exact same component as asus but without the high price tag known to ROG and also some of the issue that we see on the rog that I have been saying here are not known to Asrock.
