Default Serious Question

Hey guys.. some of you might have saw i put my DSLR Camera for sale..

1300$ Camera, a guy local is looking for one and wanting to trade a BNIB Intel i7 970 3.2Ghz, 6 Core .32nm 12MB Cache for it

girlfriend says no... father in law says retail value on the years will be in favor of the camera since it keeps its value

i barely use the camera but when i do takes awesome pictures and in RAW

and i would need a new motherboard + triple channel ram to run this cpu and probably a bigger psu to run 2 cards since this cpu would take pretty much anything anywhere right

what are your truthful opinion ...

Sould i keep my camera or trade it for a i7 970 cpu ?

No way. Chances are that is a Retail Edge CPU which generally sells for $450-$500.

I would just sell the camera for money and purchase the parts you want.

You can even build a decent rig for $1300 (assuming you don't part out your current one).

I voted no.

I say this since even though that chip is going for $1000 at NCIX it certainly is not worth it. You will get better performance from a new i7 2600K. This is even more so important since you said you would need to get a new motherboard and ram anyways. Plus the new chip with motherboard and ram should only be about $1000 give or take. So really you are much better off keeping the camera. Don't trade it for that, the other guy would be getting the better bargain.

I remember a camera similar to this a few years ago (perhaps its the same model? not sure, my memory is not so good these days), it performed pretty darn well.
Personally I would NOT trade the camera for THAT processor.

But its totally up to you.
Who knows, maybe you'll get a better offer?

Best of luck!
