Excellent write up m8. Will be interesting ocing these with no bclk headroom. There has to be some tweeking that will allow a higher max multi and bclk isnt there? Does the board have an effect? I mean would max multi and bclk be the exact same on a different board?

Im sitting here waiting forever for retail, not even skued yet @ ncix :(

Great review!

I was eager to see comparisons with the Q9550, but it was for the power consumption only....sad...

Anyway,no need for expensive cooling solutions? Seems like pretty much all compatible mid-high end coolers will be good enough to reach OC limits.

Also, that IGP built-in the 2500k and 2600K CPUs will NEVER be used by P67 users right? It doesn't belong there then!!!!!

Humm...Should I wait for Bulldozer/S2011 to replace my Q9550?
A nice 2600K/ corsair H70 / Sabertooth P67 / 8GB Vengeance RAM seems really appealing!!!!!!!!

I believe it's because once you start getting higher than that it starts getting more GPU heavy and less dependent on the CPU. I may be wrong however.

Nice stuff, but the no BLCK real OC is a pain. I am not sure I like this. Hope AMD dont screw us like this. Or maybe LGA2011.... Go go dozer

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that said 2011 will not be BCLK locked like this. Basically what I'm seeing here is 1156->1155, where in the future it's going to be 1366->2011.

Based on those Sandy 1155 results, it seems like the S2011 will be GOLD!!!

the locking has probably been discussed to death, but its kinda convenient. i mean, sure you can get a current 1156 i3 and oc it easily a little bit to beat its 1155 counterpart, but you cant do the same with the new chippies...except if you pay more for the k edition..hmm...:)

would be fun to have most dozers unlocked fully but that wouldnt happen.

No you are correct.

Excellent review. So it seems that these LGA 1355 processors provide a huge jump in performance compared to their LGA 1356 counterparts. Now I'm interested to see how the non-K versions perform and overclock.

Btw on page 3 of the review at the WoW chart, it should say 1280 and not 1210 ;)
