Today, AMD is launching a slight refresh to this series, with their fastest hexacore processor yet: the 1100T Black Edition.

i'm beginning to wonder if the far cry 2 benchmark/game does not like hyper threading....since all the chips with HT seem to do worse...than those without. just an observation

Actually, you can see that the i5-750 doesn't do that well either.

FC2 is just weird, there's a specific L3 cache structure that it really favors, which partly explains why the Clarkdale chips do so well.

Either way, I'm retiring Far Cry 2 in 2011, going to move to a whole new/updated benchmarking suite...with newer games

while on the subject of the games benches. any chance for a full bore 1920 or 2560 resolution and see what the difference is with a gtx 580 or so? saying this since if you buy this cpu you will probably wont be gaming on a gt240 or something at 1680 resolution :)

No, I'm not planning to since the higher the resolution the less impact the CPU has, and we end up with situations like this.

excellent. thanks. was just wondering since i see people boasting that their i7 at 2560 resolution can do 100 fps with the same card as the other guy with a phenom II who gets maybe 30fps......:)

I still can't see a need to upgrade from my q6600 @ 3.2, it's still competitive with these newer chips, best CPU i've ever owned.
