i'm trying to remove my p5q-e from my case, but one of the mounting screws refuses to come out, as a result, i cannot get the motherboard out.

i think the mounting screw is stuck the screw that goes into the motherboard.

i cant hold the mounting screw in place tot get the other screw out, what the hell do i do.

Is the stuck screw at the edge of the motherboard? If so, can you get access to the motherboard standoff with a small pair of needlenose pliers?

I don't suppose you don't have a 1/4" ratchet and socket to fit that screw, or a small nut driver.

What he said. If you don't have a nut that fits the standoff thread size, just hold the protruding threads with a needlenose plier while you unscrew from inside the case.

Happens quite often with Lian-Li cases when I use those.

Take the standoff with the motherboard then remove and place back onto the mobo tray. And then tighten all the standoffs with pliers so they do come loose from the mobo tray.

use a piece of paper on the inside of the plier to prevent scratches, not that anyone looks behind but still, not having little metal bits floating around is good :)

Take out all the other standoffs then just apply some upward pressure to the board and undo the screw.

Motherboards are more flexible than people think and this is usually enough pressure on the board to allow the screws to come out.
