Nah everyone else borrows pioneers stuff.. even the Asus Quietdrives are re-badged pioneers.

Thanks for the advice all! You helped out big time!

Here's my first draft build... let me know if there's anything wonky that you see with this setup.

Proc: Q6600
Mobo: GA-X38-DQ6
RAM: OCZ 2N1066SR2GK pc8500 4 GIG*
Video Card: Asus EN8800GT (fastest GT I could find)
Sound Card: Audigy 7.1 OEM
HDD: WD Raptor 150Gig, WD Caviar 500Gig x2 (3 drives total)
Burner: Pioneer DVR-212D
Cooling: Thermalrite Ultra120 Extreme
Case: Whatever, anything with decent airflow and cheap.
PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower W0104RU 650W

* The OCZ ram is dirt cheap and the reviews say its great. Im just wondering if its going to work well on my board since my board is not the 680i chipset. I've also found the Corsair XMS2 Dominator as another option to go with. It' more expensive than the ocz sticks but is still superb.

Also, the board says its crossfire ready. Does that mean that i cant run my system using nvida video cards in SLI mode?

Correct. The only chipsets that are able to SLI w/ Nvidia cards are the Nvidia chipsets (i.e. the 680i). Intel chipsets are restricted to Xfire multi-GPU setups. Of course, you can run any single GPU you want.

Bloops! AkG, for some reason I thought you were refering to the x38-DQ6. Switched the board to the p35-DQ6. Muuuch nicer.

Digitaldemon, thanks for the recommendations! I checked out the case and I'm not sure if the PS I have will reach (sigh more research lol). And it was your mobo suggestion that clued me into my error.

Thanks for the answers MpG.

Revisions:
Proc: Q6600
Mobo: GA-P35-DQ6
RAM: Corsair XMS2 Dominator TWIN2X2048-8500C5DF x2Gig (for now)
Video Card: Asus EN8800GT (fastest GT I could find)
Sound Card: Audigy 7.1 OEM
HDD: WD Raptor 150Gig x1, WD Caviar 500Gig x1
Burner: Pioneer DVR-212D
Cooling: Thermalrite Ultra120 Extreme
Case: Whatever, anything with decent airflow and cheap.
PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower W0104RU 650W

Edit: Ok, is there really any difference in using the OCZ 2N1066SR2GK SLI vs The Corsair XMS2? Does not having a SLI board limit the OCZ ram in some way since it's not using the NVIDIA Enhanced Performance Profiles?
