Sounds fine No display

So ive been tinkering with an old
478 board (asrock p4vm800) with a celeron 2.60 (northwood core i think)
and a 512mb stick of ddr400 kingston value ram. some old lite-on psu.

Its all on the desk and it wont give me any display, its plugged into the onboard vga, and the monitor works. Beeps once and sounds like and normal post but no display. I switched the ram slots and still nothing, pulled the ram and it beeps telling me it wants ram! Im confused and cant quite figure it out. Gonna try and find another stick to swap it with. Also have a celeron d i could try too.

Could it be the board has croaked?

could be a number of things. beep, followed by a change in fan speeds usually its good, i dont remember if you can force the onboard video off/secondary on that board. if so, you will not get anything since it loos for the peg/pci slot.

Could be that the onboard is turned off. A Cmos reset should reset it to default which I suspect should be onboard vid enabled.

Other than that... do you have an old PCI vid card kicking around that you could slave in to get to the bios screen with?

I forgot to mention i did clear cmos, but it didnt help, ill try pulling the battery for a few minutes to see if that helps. Too bad I dont have an old pci card around, I just threw one out a few weeks ago:(
