Default Opinions on XFX 680i LT

I've been thinking of getting a XFX 680i LT motherboards from TigerDirect. Does anyone have any good or bad opinions on them?

I heard that the XFX version of the 680i LT is not as good as the EVGA version, however with recent issues of EVGA RMA's for Canadians I wouldn't go with EVGA either. Also the NVIDIA 680i chipset will not support the new 45nm Yorkfields coming out. I would recommend getting a motherboard with a P35 chipset. They are a lot cheaper then motherboards with the 680i chipsets are better overclockers.

Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L - $104.34 @ NCIX I have used this board and it is a great overclocker. I was able to get the E2180 from 2.0GHz to 2.75GHz on stock cooling and stock voltage.

Others in the forums have used this board and other Gigabyte boards, not to mention others have used other P35 boards.

Thanks for your opinions. Actually I was only thinking of getting the XFX 680i LT because Tiger Direct is selling it for $99.97. I already know about it not supporting the upcoming quad cores. One review I read mentioned that there was not enough space around the cpu area to mount some types of heatsinks, so that's a definite minus.

IMO I'd spend the extra $5 and get the Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L from NCIX, it should even been cheaper at Direct Canada. I was able to mount a Scythe Ninja Plus on mine, but my case had clearance issues.

Any reviews on the Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L on the net? If there is I couldn't find any.
It's a cheap $89.11 at DirectCanada

so, would you recommend the p35 over the 680i if the price was the same?

I bought the xfx for 89, but I havent picked it up yet so could return it...

if the price was the same, and the plan was for overclocking a 2180:

Gigabyte DS3L or XFX 680i LT?

Personally I would recommend the Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L.

Here is a threat over at Overclock.net dedicated to people OCing on this board. The Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L Thread - Overclock.net - Overclocking.net

Here is a review I found.

That review is for a different board, the S3L, but still relevant as the DS3L is the same with better components.

I have the DS3L, so I think I will get another, at least I am familiar with it ;)

Just thought the xfx was better as it was a $220 board originally...

DS3-L is definitely a better board.

Agreed, if you don't care for SLI, and no sane person would, the P35 chipset is just a better choice when compared to the Series 6 chipset.

Abit's IP35 Pro is growing on me but I doubt I'll get one.
