Default Motherboards: New 890FX Boards?

Anyone heard if any company is going to release newer 890FX boards? The current ones don't seem to be very good (MSI and Gigabyte UD5 don't have many accessories, Asus ROG has heatsink issues, etc.).

I haven't had any issues with the heatsink(s) on my CHIV, and even those that have been reported are easy enough to resolve by re-applying some tim.

I don't think 890FX boards are overly popular and thus don't produce much profit? I think most go for the cheaper boards like the 890GX and 870.

And do you really need a ton of accessories that you'll probably rarely use anyways? And if the ASUS only has heatsinks issues, I'm sure you can remedy that yourself fairly easily.

One unique feature of MSI is that they have the Lucid Hydra chips on them so you can mix and match GPUs. Granted it may not work the most efficiently, but it's neat nonetheless.

I was thinking of getting the MSI myself. Couldn't see much missing that I would actually use. Just waiting for a little price drop or a sale. :)

Not sure what sort of accessories you're after, but MSI's 790FX board comes with several SATA cables, IDE/Floppy cables and a pair of long Crossfire Cables. It's $129.99 after a rebate from NCIX, and it's a really good buy if you don't need USB3 or SATA3 built-in.

I just came across this article Overclock3D :: Article :: Asus ROG Crosshair IV Extreme - Hands on Preview :: Introduction today. A next generation Asus 890FX motherboard. It's under NDA until the end of September. No real info, just some pretty pictures.
