S939 officially dead?
Maximum PC reported that AMD recently shipped out the last S939 procs it intends to produce and suggested that if you want one..... buy it up soon!!!!

I have noticed lately that X2's and opties are getting even more scarce than they were before christmas.

IMO, AMD is shooting itself in the foot by dropping S939 production prior to some form of answer to the core 2 duos.

As it stands, any person running a S939 who is looking just for a proc boost might consider buying a higher end S939 chip rather than switching to DDR2, but any person forced to upgrade to ddr2 is absolutely going to go core 2. DDR1 is probably the only thing that's currently preventing us from "going over to the dark side".

Duallies are extremely hard to find. I am still pissed completely off they killed S939 so fast. I am impressed by C2D, but not enough.
