Smile CPUs and Motherboards

Yeah, that sucks. I wouldn't even roast marshmallows over it! They'd taste like crap. Seriously, I hope EVGA doesn't give you too much trouble over this. Great replacement though!

OC'ing a 980X... So, yes, 'extreme' OC'ing.

760 Classy is three way SLI. I disagree, better boards have higher BLCK walls.

Extreme refers to the magnitude of the overclock, not the fact that you'll be using an Extreme Edition CPU. So you may not necessarily be doing any 'extreme' overclocking.

got to look up what power draw comes from a hexa intel, its possible its eating a good 2-300 watts more when oc'ed. saw somewhere power draw of a 1055t, something like 200 watts over stock when properly oc'ed

but still a good board should do it.

I know that, but I would've never bought a 980X if I didn't plan to OC it.. hoping on atleast 4.5 Ghz.

You were attempting to watercooling the board?

Yeah, I had just finished doing a 24-hour leak test. Completely leak free, and was using non-conductive coolant (I know I know, pretty much just distilled water.) but the fact is there were no leaks, no cracked chips, standoff's were perfectly fine. Power supply was adequate. I still don't know why it did. :P
