Exclamation cooler for AM2 6000+

Currently have a retail box AM2 BE2300 and going to install a AM2 6000+. Assume that even with no overclocking I will have to get a new cooler for the 6000+. Any recommendations? Have a Asus M2N motherboard.

I already have the AM2 6000+ CPU. Would the Regor even work in the AM2? What about Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 CPU Cooler?

The AC Freezer 7 is overprice junk. I would get the 212+ like dangX said.

Which M2N motherboard do you have? There are a couple of them...

Go with the Hyper 212+
Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus Direct Touch 4 Heatpipe Heatsink AM2 AM3 LGA1366 LGA775 LGA1156 120MM - DirectCanada

If not go with the Vendetta 2, it has worked well on my socket 939
OCZ Vendetta 2 Triple Heatpipe CPU Heatsink AM2 LGA775 S939 S940 S754 120MM Fan 800-1500RPM 20-32DBA - DirectCanada

The benefit of the 212+ is that it will fit on all of the current sockets

Hope this helps.

Phoned the local place here and they are out of stock on the Hyper 212+. The Zalman CNPS19X Performa is $38 but reviews indicate its fan is too loud at full speed. Remember not going to be overclocking.

OCZ Vendetta 2 is a good cooler. Its doesn't cool quite as much as the 212+, but its more quiet (slower fan on the vendetta 2). I have been contemplating this cooler for a while, since I like cool, but I also like quiet (and a low price).

The Vendetta is a pretty decent cooler. Also make sure that you motherboard can accommodate your 6000. I am not familiar with your specific model but some basic MB are limited as what they can take as far as wattage is concerned. For example, I have a AM2+ MB that cannot take a CPU drawing more than 90 watts.
