My System Specs

Default MotherBoard : Tester

Again to go along with my PSU thread I've used a few at different shops but never got one of my own.

Does anyone have one of these or know where to get a decent one. Normally you plug these into the PCI slot of the mobo and power up the mobo (with a psu connected of course) then it will give you a code which you google or go to the manual and it will tell you what failed, memory etc...

This would come in handy for testing purposes and save me a lot of the old fashion rip everything out and add one component at a time etc..

Thanks in advance for any help.

I was going to link DealExtreme as well. However, I've never actually used a POST card....

Actually, the only motherboard failure I have EVER had was related to blown caps, something that the POST tester wouldn't find.

I don't know how many times I've seen systems with built in ethernet card and they have another realtek ethernet card in a PCI slot. When I ask why the person always tells me because the on board one is dead. When tested it never is. I really don't get it. I've never had any component fail on any motherboard except for caps.

.... except for when PSUs go "out" violently..... then I've seen south/north bridge chips blown apart, etc.
