My System Specs

Default AMD 955 or 1055T?

Hey HWC,

I'm having a difficult time of choosing which processor to buy.

On one hand i save approximately $30 which i can put towards RAM if i get the 955 (its $16X) from NCIX but I can also get a 1055T for $199.99 for Anitec.

But the thing is that I can't use my $100 gift card for NCIX.

I mainly game, browse the web, play movies and Fold.

So which processor should i get?

Thanks

It seems if you buy the 955 its the best of both worlds for yourself as you can use your giftcard (even though you can buy the 1055T from NCIX just at a little higher price). I'm running a 955 overclocked and its handled everything I've thrown at it. Not a lot can take advantage of the X6s at this point so just pick up the 955 and put the saved cash towards better RAM or maybe even an SSD! Also if you wait a couple months I'm sure the X6s will start popping up in the BST.

Just get NCIX to pricematch Anitec. That way you get a 1055T and get to use your gift card.

Would it be possible to pricematch the 1055T from Anitec's weekly sales page? Link: Anitec.ca - AMD Phenom II X6 1055T (2.80 GHz) 4000 MHz HT Hexa-core Socket AM3 PGA-941 Processor (HDT55TFBGRBOX)
