Cool N' Quiet won't turn off?

Why is it annoying? It shouldn't affect overclocking in any way other than lowering the clock speed of the CPU when it's idle and doesn't make a difference anyway.

I wouldnt get annoyed over it. It Shouldnt have any effect besides keeping temps down when not using the system....UNLESS you are going for hardcore overclocks, then yeah it can be annoying :)

because when tweaking in windows I can't see the speed when I change the multi or fsb. I have to run a benchmark.

This is besides the point, I just want to figure out why it doesn't seem to turn off.

Heh, Even tho I have a Black Edition CPU, I keep the multiplier on auto and overclock the bus speed just to take advantage of the Cool N Quiet feature!

And for most people they just set Cool N Quiet [Disable] and be done with it.

I have the same issue with my Crosshair IV 890FX board. Word is that it requires a bios update to resolve.

As far as why it's an issue for me... Trying to get single thread benchmarks while the cores are fluctuating up and down is driving me nuts!!!! ;)

edit:

- I actually just contacted MSI (DO NOT PHONE THEM) go to MSI Online Customer Service and send them a message. They responded to me within a few hours. They told me to turn off the green power led's to no avail. So I sent them my exact specs and they are going to set up a test system and try to fix this, most likely with a bios update.
