AMD Phenom II X6 1090T & 1055T Six-Core Processors Review Comment Thread
For the better part of the last year, there had been rumors of an AMD 6-core processor family that would soon be introduced. Well, that day has come and in this review we focus upon two products from AMD’s Phenom X6 family: the 1090T Black Edition and the slightly more pedestrian 1055T. Are they enough to topple Intel from its current place upon the performance throne?

I know what I am getting next!! :thumb:
Nice review as always. I'm looking forward to seeing the OC results after you guys have had some time to get use to the hex cores. I'm also interested in seeing OC difference in the 1055T and 1090T. Now all I need is some money...
I'm curious to see the [email protected] performance of these chips too.
Also, since this is a question that we have seen asked over & over, we will be comparing Phenom II X6 overclocking on both AMD 790-series and 890-series chipset motherboards.
why i love this site ^^
so basically(well well see how it does on 7 series chipsets as well hint ddr2 hint hint ) its capable of 4 ghz or a tad better on ok air cooling? very nice. go future folder go!!!!!
grammaticals look ok
Having said that, make sure that your applications that can harness this processor's capabilities.
which is a blessing compared
This is huge boon since it (not sure on this a one lol)
which is a slight improvement
Great job MAC!!!!
Happy to see such a large sampling of procs in there. That's exactly the type of thing I'm particularly interested in, especially since I'm looking at replacing my vernerable Q6600 with this platform.
If you've got time to comment.... how did you find the Memory compatibility with these chips? Any issues that might come up with secondary timings for higher speed / lower latency i5 kits?
Someone should try the 1090T hexacore on AM2 mobos:)
I've got a DDR2 790 chipset MSI board that I'll at least drop the chip into to see if the bios can support it. ;)
Pretty much what I expected. Better multithreaded performance than the X4 CPUs and fits right in line with current pricing. A good upgrade for AM2/AM3 machines, but for new rigs I'm not sure if I'd recommend one compared to a similar Intel system as far as price goes. I'll need to see the overclocking article to form an opinion about that.
Seems OK... nothing blows me away, like the nice spread of comparison processors, my pet peeve, the absence of a link to the comment thread that sometimes seems to get overlooked ?
