Default Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD7 LGA 1156 Motherboard Review Comment Thread

While many may think of P55 motherboards as a less-expensive alternative to an X58-based product, enthusiasts have learned that many LGA 1156 processors can be pushed to obscene speeds when paired up with the right board. As such, manufacturers have been releasing P55 boards of increasing potential at a feverish rate. Gigabyte's P55A-UD7 is meant to be the pinnacle of their P55 lineup, but does it have what it takes to bring things to the next level?

very nice. cooling is...wow..the water block thing...hmm...i think someone needs to go back and look a bit more into it, indeed.

does the silent pipe need way more airflow to do some damage?
i love the 'power station' around the socket area. man what a beauty

skimmed very fast, grammaticals look good.

It sure is a good looking board. The layout does look better than the X58A-UD7 that is for sure.

Default They say a picture's worth a thousand words.

The debug LED's probably my favorite part of the extra features but really, it seems like Gigabyte thought of just about everything for this broad.

Small typo under BIOS Rundown (p10) " Those who are not interesting in using all of the storage controllers on the P55A-UD7..." should be "interested."

Is it just me or in page 7 of the review you call the 8 pin CPU power connector a 4 pin one?

I like your writing style, lemonlime... good review. But I demand all SLI testing be done with two GTX 480s!!!

Thanks for the comments, all

My apologies, it should indeed read "8 pin CPU power connector". I'll let editing folks correct that when they get a moment.

Very Detailed Review as I've come to expect.

The board looks to perform very well, espically with that Crucial Ram

My only fault that I can see is moving power delivery components to the back of the board where cooling is next to Zero. This will eventually toast the mofsets on it I imagine. Much as older X38 boards from ASUS had them there and had the same faults.

Otherwise, awesome Board.

Because I like you guys, I'll warn you now not to tell me if you get one. I'm prone to shanking you and taking it.
