Default X38 Motherboard user

Hey guys, just wanna know your experience using the X38 motherboard. Right now i am using the Maximus Formula SE just got few days ago. Really good motherboard, (after i tried to use giabyte x38 motherboard).

For me i still have pros and cons for this motherboard. But still this is a kick ass motherboard.

What was your maximum FSB? Do you have a SLI setup?

It's good to hear that it's up and running!

I haven't got my hands on one yet, but I'd be interested in hearing what the cons were from your experience- also be interested in hearing your gigabyte story.

How would he have that with an INTEL X38 chipset?
I heard they have PCI-e 2.0 and 2PCI-E x 16 as well, but im pretty sure without hacked drivers SLI is not supported.
It was just a rummer that it was if im not wrong.

there is no sli mode in this motherboard(and i think none of the x38 has a sli setup), but you can work on crossfire, and right now im using the 2600xt.

im not working yet right now on OC to meet the highest fsb. Just doing a simple boot for now using qx6850 and corsair ddr2 800 for the test. one good of this motherboard is having an OC features make it easily but going to extreme tweaker at the bios option, which giabyte dosent have. you can also chose your cpu level up from auto to crazy.

some x38 motherboards has a DDR3 support but not the maximus formula. Also some reviews having trouble using the fusion block that some were not fit on their watercooling so others might check it out.

for now im content using the DDR2 for this motherboard. If im going to use the DDR3, better wait for X48 chipsets to make stable on DDR3 cause it looks like x38 chipsets are just a start test for using DDR3 support.

Wow, I thought Intel was with Nvidia regarding the X38 chipset. Sorry about that stupid question...

(It's odd how Intel uses AMD's/ATI's GPUs to run a dual card setup)

X38 will support SLI but it'll be more of a hack and only a few handful of boards will have it.. iirc
