My System Specs

Default E7500

i just got an E7500 intel core 2 duo which is suposed to be 2.93GHz...in the bios its only saying 2.13 but in the system info in control panel its saying 2.93...which one is lying to me lol, did i not get what i was suposed to?

Load your CPU with something like Prime95, and then open CPU-Z. That will tell you your true clock speed.

The cpu is probably downclocking itself to save energy and heat.

Try to disable power saving features.

upgrade the Bios ... your CPu is more new than the Bios...

Why should he disable the power saving features? There's no harm to leaving them enabled, and they seem to be functioning as advertised.

let's do something first...give me the model of the board, I will tell you where to go to find the Bios version. and if you need to upgrade the bios. cpu and motherboard have to be match by the Bios.. we start there to see if they are. before someone try to play with the OC setting and the power feature... it's not there the problem anyway... you will have a lower mhz reading in windows than in the bios

I simply said to try. If disabling those features does not work we will know that the bios is the problem.
