Default i3 540 for gaming

I guess that an i3 540 with a good cooler and overclocked to about 4Ghz would become a good CPU for gaming right? :)

Why not the i3 530 ? Cheaper and pretty much the same OC results. I'm thinking about buying one -- 4.4GHz would be my goal.

i3 has GPU integrated on die... How to turn it off to get more thermal head room? Because I don't think that GPU can does gaming rendering... Add on Gfx card is a better choice.

When it's not being used it goes into an low-power idle state, it produces very little heat.

i havent done much reading into the on integreated gpu's but can they be used along side a proper gpu or would that be pointless and stupid.

Alongside in what way? You can't use it to improve 3D performance. As for using it to perhaps drive an extra monitor, I'm not sure if that's possible. Most motherboards with traditional integrated graphics will disable the onboard video when a video card is installed, but H55/H57 boards might work differently.
