My System Specs

Default 4PCI-e???

Hey guys, I`m about to build a folding machine using 4X PCI-e card and all the kit but I am wondering what is the best board to get to do that. Actually I am not looking at any model so I'm pretty open to everything. I don't mind AMD or intel I can work with both with no problem and also I don't want to spend like 500$ on my mobo ( so X58 Classified is no ). I would also stay in P55 or AM3 ( if possible ) because I don't want to spend 2000 for this rig. So just a board that do what I want would be nice.

For P55 combined with an i7 860 this is the one to get; NCIX.com - Buy ASUS P7P55 Ws Supercomputer 5PCI-E16 PCI-E1 PCI GBLAN 6SATA GBLAN 1394 Motherboard - P7P55 WS SuperComputer In Canada.

I've found it nice and stable.

deadthings also has it and is running 4x gpus plus the -bigadv WU's and gets great ppd.

There are also 4 slot boards by Asrock that are similiar.

For AMD the NCIX.com - Buy MSI 790FX-GD70 ATX AM3 790FX DDR3 4PCI-E16 CrossFire 1PCI-E1 2PCI eSATA SATA GBLAN Motherboard - 790FX-GD70 In Canada.

sswilson has this one with 4x gpu's, maybe check with him to see how he likes it...

I think we have a winner for now. Even if I don't really love MSI as a brand I will give them a try in the near futur. If you guys me show me something more interesting I will take it for sure:P I am open to almost everything!

Sorry if this is kind of off topic, but can those 7PCIe boards handle 7 cards? They'd have to be single slotted cards, but is it possible?

Yes, they can handle 7 cards. It would be kind of pointless if they couldn't, no? ;)
