You had to mention yet another board that NCIX has with a Lotes socket. Now I am really considering replacing my P7P55D Pro. Damn, I just bought the Pro a few weeks ago

That board has had some good press lately. Glad to hear it has a Lotes socket, Linus

Hmm have to check that one out. Do you know when the Big Bang mobo is going to be available for ordering Linus? And what the cost would be?

edi - and okay, EVGA FTW vs MSI P55-GD80 ????

Hmmn. Not to doubt Linus, I hope that what he said is now correct, but this link from the MSI Forums shows that the GD80 has a Foxconn socket.
P55 heavy OC could damage cpu/socket!!!
Also, in the video review done by Linus at the NCIX listing, the video clearly shows a Foxconn socket on the board.
It would be good to know if MSI has changed their sockets to Lotes for this board and if all the stock from NCIX currently has the Lotes socket.

Here's a photo from HardwareCanucks own review on the MSI board:

Big Bang has that count down on the MSI site. Other than that I can't really talk about it....

I haven't used eVGA's FTW board, but I'm really impressed with the GD80 (and the GD65 for that matter).

MSI's really turned the ship around with these P55 boards.
