what? I probably could, I was hitting 80, but it would only hit anything above 70 after running for at least 2 hours.

not just bragging.

overclock saves $$$$.

buy a lower clocked same batch CPU, overclock it to highest-end CPU clock speeds.

On a good machine yes overclocking helps.

But the benefits vs overclocking do reach a hiatus depending on what you do.

When I had my e8400 I saw little gains in performance between 3.6 and 4.0ghz relative to FPS in games.

When you no longer get a gain from a CPU speed increase, your next limiting factor is the GPU.

I'm aware of the limitations of my 8800GT and I know with a larger gpu I would see more benefit.

But if you were to upgrade to lets say a 5870 or a gtx 295 and didn't overclock your cpu it would be a bottleneck instead of a gpu like the 8800 Or so i've heard

What chip do you have at 3.6 ST?
Suicide Run on a Kuma Cored AM2+ :)

It should have actually read 2.7 - 3.6 but my brain is faster than my hands.
