Default p35 question

unlike 680i mem/fsb can't be unlinked , how do you work around that ?

Works same as 965, 975, g33, etc, you set a mem freq in bios.

I didn't form the question well.It seems it'd be easier to oc the invidia because of the unlink feature , that true? or is there no real advantage to invidia chips, its just that intel does it by a different means?

Being able to unlink memory is an extra feature over and above what you see on the intel chipsets.

It allows the use of cheap memory left at stock speeds while Overclocking the CPU.

OTOH, most folks who want to OC their CPU also want to OC their mem so they wouldn't use the unlink feature.

Also, not to start a war or anything (my folding farm is all intel so i could appear to be biased), but in my reads around various fora, the intels MAY get you a better/higher performing oc and do it with less bios fiddling.

But I am only repeating what i have read, and don't have any experience myself with the 680i. I almost got one for my second quad but ended up going with a 965 based ds3.
