I agree but as long as it was lapped that shinny with #2000 then I don't see any harm in it. Though I've read that better results can be had when you stop at #800 or #1000 but I'm sure it's very minimal. It's when people use polishing compound that I think they are actually doing more harm than good to get that extra bling.

I'll post some pics of my NH-U12P and Thermaltake Golden Orb 2 (got really bored) later. I started at 1500 grit for them, it took like 7 hours. I was way too cheap to spend the extra $5 to get the lower grits
