help me choose

well im finally upgrading my comp with a i7 860.

now i need different opinions on 2 boards ive narrow it down

evga p55 ftw

gigabyte p55 ud5

i would like to know which one would be best for me.

im not gonna go sli YET. dont plan on OC to much. just looking for a board that will last me about 3 years and not burn out.

When choosing your board it all comes down to whether you want to go SLI/Crosffire and how much you want to overclock ?

920 - Socket 1366
- Triple Channel support
- Easier to overclock
- Upgradable Socket
- Better SLI/XFire performance ( Dual 16X )

860 - Socket 1156
- Dual channel ram
- Harder to overclock
- no Gulftown support
- Slower SLI/XFire

920/860 are both around the same price , If I were to build an i7 platform for myself for HEAVY Gaming/Multitasking,

i7 920 D0 - O'C 4.0
Gigabyte EX58-EXTREME / Gigabyte GA-EX58-DS4 / Gigabyte EX58-UD3R ( $350 / $250 / $200 )
ATI 5870 / ATI 4850X2 2GB ( $410 / $320 )

all i do is heavy gaming. maybe 920 with d0 stepping would be better.

Yes 920 D0 is the way to go ! and a Gigabyte board , theyre build for the sole purpose of heavy overclocking and durability ! Great product with awesome customer service, choose the one that fits your budget ! and ofcourse an ATI card ! Sheer performance for cheaper price ! Im both Nvidia EVGA GTX280 SLI and ATI 4850X2 2GB user and planning to stick with ATI from now on !

ATI is alright for gaming but folding you want to go nvidia I've got no complaints with either card though both companies are pretty good :) Just make sure you get one with a good warranty (BFG, XFX (my fav), EVGA etc...)
