My System Specs

Meh. I'll buy into more cores when I start seeing the era of parallel computing on my i7. Congrats to AMD though for making one.

My i7 will be enough for a good couple years I think.

Ha! Knew it was coming . With the advent of the 6-core Istanbul it was only a matter of time.

Now, what AMD really needs is to start making socket AM3/F/G34 (whichever) available to enthusiasts with new technology Right when it comes out, to be a better competitor for the likes of i7..... THEN come out with the desktop version for a more manageable price (a la i5). In that way, they might be able to remain a little bit more competitive. I mean, no one seems to complain when Intel makes an i7-965 chip at well over $1k, just to show off their higher clock speeds and new tech. So why can't AMD do something similar? Release the latest-greatest on the more expensive enthusiast platform and then bring in the less expensive/lower clocked versions for budget/regular users. Sorry, I'm ranting again aren't I?...

Still, i can't wait to see what price these guys are placed at and, more importantly, how they perform! 'Bout time AMD!
