No. At this point Intel has their pricing structure firmly in place.

I highly doubt if they were to it'd be anything substantial; but I'm going to go with a big fat no. They just brought out i5 to take care of the lower market.

Considering there is nothing AMD has that can compete with the 860, why cut prices at this point?

Maybe in time, but I think they're VERY reasonably priced.

Well, now they are good priced and for the 920 wich is the only affordable for me, he will leave us in soon. The X58 platform is supposed to stay only with pretty high priced CPU ( Xtreme platform ). It would be dumb for intel to have I7 860 1156 and 17 920 1366 at the same price point and the same performance but with higher priced ram and mobo. just my grain of sand.

Ask for more.

Yep, i don't see them going down much more. Only way i'd see a little bit price drop is if our dollar overtakes the american dollar (and significantly at that)

It could be false rumors, but I really really thought that the i5 line was supposed to cheaper than the i7.. In fact I heard people telling others that the i7 860 was to be cheaper than a i7 920..

As I said, I just heard people talking..
