Default EVGA P55 Mobo Sound Cutting out

Hey everyone, I wanted to know if you've come across a similar problem with your motherboard's onboard sound (all drivers updated including audio driver).

I just put together an i7-860 build (works flawlessly with Windows 7), the only problem i've encountered is that the sound will cut out after about 20-30 minutes of gaming. Windows sound cuts out too, I can only solve the problem by restarting the computer.

This problem has happened while playing Call of Duty 4, CS 1.6, and while watching YouTube videos.

I'm going to be calling EVGA tech support soon but if you've encountered similar problems with other mobo's and can lend some advice or support it would be great. thanks a lot!

Are you 100% certain it isn't the actual connections from speakers to sound port? If the contact on the mobo isn't perfect it could be that as well.

so i spent my morning figuring out that it was in fact my wireless card that i plugged into the PCI slot. the card was what was causing the sound to cut out. i was able to hear everything while I played COD4 for 1 hour with the card removed. thank God for 14 day Best Buy returns.

It might have been a resource conflict with the card. Did you try resetting the PCI resources with all of your devices connected to the system?
