Default w00t w0tt! Q6600!

w00t w0tt! Got my Q6600 today and just finished hooking it!

It's a Q6600 G0 L724A

Here are my temps ATM with 1.304v real (1.3250v set). I decided to use the thin layer across the cores to apply my AS5. It seems to have done the job pretty well! Check out the temps.

IDLE:

LOAD:

Temps looks good to me! Only thing is that i get 2c-3c higher on core 0 & 1 during IDLE and during LOAD, i get 5c higher on core 0 & 1... Probably because one side of my FuZion is tightened a bit more than the other. I might try to play with that later. Also, i decided that this time i would screw my FuZion as tight as possible. I tightened it the more evenly i could and since i have a Thermalright back-plate, i felt confident heh.

Now one thing that is really awesome is that, i get cooler temps with that Q6600 than i used to get with my E6600 @ stock with 1.304v as well! lol! Im really lost here... Maybe it is due to the fact that i tightened my FuZion harder ?

What you guys think ?

Tomorrow ima going to work on getting that CPU @ 3Ghz Stable with as less vcore as possible. Since my ram kit is in RMA process... And that im running with cheap 1GB DDR2 667Mhz kit, i can only do 333FSB. 333x9 = 3Ghz. Will post back results!

So far, i like that Q6600 Big Thanks goes to Ashraful from XS for getting me that chip!

Posted at your XS thread. I cant wait to see your results. I am currently trying all different sorts of 24/7 OC's and currently running 3.6Ghz with 1.37Vcore real (DMM). That runs at about 48c quad loaded maximum and idles at 28c lol!!

The G0 is amazing ;)

Damn thats nice! I am currently stressing with Prime95 x 4 Small FFTs, 1.304v for 3Ghz and so far it's stable. I idle at 34-34-37-37 and load at 50-50-45-45.

Unfortunately, i can't go any further until i get my RAM kit back...

what is the vid on your chip?

I have 3 go's now ... the first 2 were from same batch (L723A765) and had vid's of 1.2375 and 1.25.
The latest one's (L720B028) vid is 1.30V and doesn't seem to oc as well initially but i am not finished oc'ing it yet ... atm it is heat limited to 360x9 for folding since it only has an af7 on it ... but i will be putting one of my tt bt's or st's on it this weekend.

It is running on a p35-ds3l.

The vid on my chip is 1.275v. I am most impressed with the OCing at low voltage and the scaling of these G0's. Next test I am going to do is lowest voltage I can run 3Ghz stable.

Cant wait for X38 ;)

Little update

3Ghz Stable with 1.304v real (1.3250v). I haven't tried any lower voltage for 3Ghz stable yet. And as i said, i can't go any further... Im limited to 333FSB because of that cheap ram kit. I sent my G.Skill RAM kit back to them yesterday. I chose Xpress post! lol Now it's up to them. I spoke with a G.SKill Technician on XS which told me that it was safe to run that ram kit at 5-5-5-15 1000Mhz 2.0v for 24\7. But he also said that the ram kit could handle 4-4-4-12 2.3v for 1000Mhz. I'll probably go with the 5-5-5-15 since im tired of having dead ram kits.

So far, i have RMA 3 times in my life and 3 were for ram kits. All ram kits came from NCIX.com and i only owned one DDR2 ram kit in my life. The first set was a kit of Team Xtreem PC2-6400 and it was DOA ... Second set was same kit and 1 stick died a week after i got it... And finally, the third kit was that G.SKill which i had asked NCIX.com if they could give me that kit instead of the Team Xtreem one. And now, 1 stick has died. lol What is wrong with me and RAM kits!

That temp difference between core 0-1 and 2-3 really bugs me. I mean 5c-6c is really weird. But from what ppls says, it's normal for Quad cores. Oh well. I might just give a try and re-mount for the heck of it.

VID = 1.2750v BTW

Will update sig later

Damn, look at those temps!

WCG 100% load with CPU @ 3Ghz - 1.304v.
