Default ASUS RoG Maximus III Formula Preview Comment Thread

It seems everywhere we turn these days there is a new P55, Lynnfield-supporting motherboard coming out of the woodwork. Today we take a quick look at the board that ASUS hopes will head up every enthusiastís shopping list when the new i5 / i7 processors are released: the Maximus III Formula. This Republic of Gamers board packs more features than one could ever hope to use and it looks oh-so-good.

That is one fancy looking board! I thought my red MSI 690G board looked high tech, but now it looks like something out of the Paleolithic era compared to this bad-boy. :(

I can't wait to see how these 1156's do. :)

Wow fully loaded.. I seem to like the idea that Asus is following with their boards, loading everything they can in the back connectors, and then a pretty good card sound card on a pci-e card.. Leaving the audio connectors out helps in putting more stuff..

If the PCH doesn't produce that much heat, makes me really think that P55 boards might see higher clocks that P45 boards and processors at less temps.. I was going to upgrade, but this has really gotten me thinking..

Thanks SKY :)

I wish ASUS did their voltage monitoring points the way MSI is doing them with their newer boards. Still, this looks like a great mobo, and the layout is one of the better ones I've seen.
