Greetings. What is an average price for a used Q9450? I'm trying to get this frikkin cpu of mine upgraded.

I would say about 160-180 would be a fair price.

Not all of us have money to burn. =) Plus don't forget that Core i5 requires a new motherboard and RAM, whereas just if he sticks with his LGA775, the most he'll spend is probably $100 after selling his E6400.

I'm in the same situation as you and I wanna upgrade to a quad core too. Then maybe get the 4GB set of RAM that I've wanted for a while. Anyways, it's a bit off topic, but I've seen Q6600 go for around $150.

lga 775 quad cores are things of the past


i won't even buy a lga775 quad, new or used until i seen the pricing for I5 cpus and performance

$150- $200 depending on VID and overclockability

i5 nor i7 will be in my budget anytime soon. this will be my last upgrade on this rig. gpu was done a few months ago and the ram was done last week when it was on sale. With a decent oc, this rig will still have some life left in it.
