As of late, MSI seems to be a company on the upswing as they seem to be following up their success in the laptop and netbook markets by pouring money into their motherboard development teams. Once the Lynnfield processors are released, expect MSI to be leading the P55 charge with the product we are previewing here today: the P55-GD80.

Personally I'm quite excited about their new products. I won't be a prick and post my preview video of the GD80 in your thread, but their lineup (top to bottom) has some really neat and unique features!

I agree. It has been a while since I was last excited about MSI products but they seem to have turned a corner. Here's hoping their BIOS is as fully featured and capable as the rest of their board...

It's been a while since i've even considered MSI, seems i will have to keep an eye on them from now on.

Wow, that board actually looks really impressive. Kind of a shame - back when I figured I'd give MSI a try, I got a P35 Lollercoaster. Now that I've moved on to other options and aren't in the market for a board, they get their act together and turn out some neat stuff.

I like the socketed voltage points - no worrying about a DMM point accidentally slipping sideways on the board. And I hadn't realized their DrMos units ran that high of a frequency - very nice! Wonder if this board will be able to run the memory frequencies that we've been seeing on some other P55 boards.

I don't understand the fact they they have a really nice layout and bring in new tech, but for god's sake, get rid of that terrible silkscreen font. Make the lettering actually fit in with the boards appeal...

Very nice board though. I look forward to a review!

Yeah really... it might as well be in the "Terminal" font.

More like all the advertising of the boards features shouldn't be printed on the board in the first place. Gigabyte does it too and they should stop as well.

I still don't know if I would buy a MSI though, but we'll see how it reviews.

Price is not quite set but if I had to guess I'd say ~$200.

Availability will be immediately following the Lynnfield launch.
