| Hey guys! A good friend of me placed an order a while back for a Q6600 G0 assured at tankguys and he actually didn't needed the chip anymore. So i said i would get it from him :) Anyway, he just received it a few mins ago. Stepping is a freaking L724A! No shit! Hahaha! Do i see 4Ghz coming? lol http://nullimg.net/systems/q6600-l724a760-01.jpg http://nullimg.net/systems/q6600-l724a760-02.jpg He'll ship that chip to me on Monday and i hope to hook that chip by the end of next week! LOL still... This is a funny coincidence! EDIT: I'd have a few questions ![]() What are the max safe temps for that chip ? On cores and on CPU temps (Reading with speedfan) And how did you applied your thermal paste onto your chip ? With the grain of rice method or with the line across the cores on the heat-spreader ? Thanks :)

| Well, i always used AS5 and the method you described above. But recently, i have been using the rice grain method and i haven't seen any difference.

| When using Quads they reccomend that you use the thin line. I usually do the apply/spread/remove with cloth, then the thin line and works well. I usually want to keep my temps under 65c at a maximum, but they are designed to run at a max of 70c. I had to run over 1.6v for 4Ghz stable and that was well over 200w of heat. It was hard to keep it uner 65c under those conditions with water cooling. Looks like 1.5-1.52Vcore is the sweet spot for watercooling. You should be good to 3.8 or so with that voltage and your cooling. Anyhow, make sure you let me know wat that chips has |

| Will do! Thanks!
