Default Intel S5520HC + 2x Xeon E5530

Hey Guys,
Early next month i'll be getting my hands on an Intel S5520HC mobo with a pair of Xeon E5530's.
Does anyone know anything about this board? How does it perform? Any major issues? Can i overclock?
The main role for this server will be to consolidate my other machines into a virtual environment. Because this will be running 24/7 in my bedroom... what good and quiet coolers, and psu's would you recommend?
Thanks for the help!

I did some research about that board before buying my X8DAi. It's a solid board, no oc'ing though. ECC ram only.

Cooling? Water. ;)

Stock clock? Sure. Very low noise? Even better.

Hm... the EEC Reg ram might be a deal killer though. Any real benefits of ECC? It costs more than double of non-ecc ram.

If ECC is not worth it, i might just sell this board and go with a supermicro. :)

ECC, non-registered is required, hence why I chose the X8DAi. But if you want the Intel, here's some Ram for it:

NCIX.com - Buy Kingston Value RAM KVR1333D3E9SK3/6G 6GB 3X2GB 1333MHZ CL9 ECC PC3-10600 Triple Channel Memory Kit - KVR1333D3E9SK3/6G In Canada.

If you do go for the Supermicro, DDR3 non-ecc, non-reg ram can do the trick, as long at it runs at 1.5V. My Pats are 1333s, vanilla sticks.

Too pricey. Single X16 slot too.

Single slot too, half the price: NCIX.com - Buy Tyan S7002G2NR-LE Dual Xeon LGA1366 DDR3 1PCI-E16 3PCI-E8 SATA2 Video Dual GBLAN RAID Motherboard - S7002G2NR-LE In Canada.
